CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Governor Patrick Morrisey today announced the appointment of Kennad Lee “Kenny” Skeen II to the 5th Family Circuit Court, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Constance J. Thomas.

"Kenny Skeen brings nearly 25 years of legal experience and a strong commitment to serving the people of West Virginia," said Governor Morrisey. "His extensive work in family law, along with his experience as a prosecutor, public defender and Mental Hygiene Commissioner, has prepared him well for this responsibility. I'm confident he will serve West Virginia families with fairness, integrity and sound judgment."

He also served nine years as Jackson County's Mental Hygiene Commissioner.

Skeen has extensive experience in family law and domestic relations, representing clients in hundreds of family court proceedings, serving as a court-appointed guardian ad litem for juveniles and conducting civil mediations.

Born in Charleston, Skeen earned his undergraduate degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College and his law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law. He resides in Jackson County with his family.
